OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION GENERAL FUNCTIONS In granting support to the Ministry of Civil Affairs (MoCA) and the Palestinian Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PMPWH), the main responsibilities of the Database technical expert are to: -Assisting in database design; -Updating and amending existing databases; -Setting up and testing database and data handling systems; -Monitoring database efficiency; -Sustaining the security and integrity of data; -Creating complex query definitions that allow data to be extracted; -Advise, troubleshoot and provide Help Desk support to project; -Provide day to day support as needed; -Training all users on how to input and extract data as required; and -Perform other duties as required. ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE Education -Technical/Professional Diploma in Computer Sciences or information systems, statistics, engineering or other relevant discipline; high school degree with additional years of relevant work experience, may substitute for the requirement for a diploma Work Experience -Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible experience working in IT support, programming, or web development. -Strong experience of Microsoft .NET required and C# is desired; -Experience with Javascript required. Experience with AngularJS and/or BreezeJS an asset. -Strong experience with SQL Server and other relational databases, an asset; -Excellent understanding of MSOffice; -Excellent diagnostic, debugging and problem solving skills Key Competencies -Languages - Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English; -Detail oriented; -Comfortable working with basic keyboarding and computer navigation; -Ability to type accurately and fast under pressure -Knowledge of word processing software and systems (i.e. Microsoft Office); -Ability to multi-task and work in an environment where there may be frequent distractions; -Previous experience in data entry is an asset; -Ability to work in a team; -Ability to work effectively under conditions of limited or dual supervision, high stress and rapidly changing situations and circumstances.
