HELP ME FIND A NEW LOVING HOME*** 1 year old Baby Cakes owner dropped her in the shelter. Now as they are moving she is being moved to the kill list. Please help save Baby Cakes life before it is to late.... A volunteer writes: I spotted Baby Cakes in a playgroup with other dogs. She seemed quite happy cavorting with Champ, a handsome brindle and was trying to make friends with Lilly, a middle aged Puggle. Later on, I saw her frozen and drooling in the company of a human......Baby Cakes was relinquished into our care as her family moved to a place not allowing dogs. Her owners said that she was kept mostly kept in house, never having the chance to meet children, other dogs and even less cats. She is said to be house trained. She would be very playful, affectionate, constantly looking for attention, quiet and loyal. As I opened her kennel door, Baby Cakes got up from her blankie and was leashed without effort. It took a while before she decided to come out and walk to the yard. She was scared, her tail was between the legs, her eyes were untrusting. She would not accept a scarf and even less a coat. We just walked a little. She did not want my hand to touch her...For now, I had to respect her wishes and keep my distance. Tomorrow could be a better day..Who would have thought that the company of other dogs would get her out of her shell. ...There is most likely hope for Baby Cakes when I read what her former master says about her and mostly see her attitude toward other dogs at the care center. Still, a savvy home who will socialize Baby Cakes to people and dogs is the best remedy for her distress and the hope for the making of a wonderful forever best friend.
