01/06/15 Engine 16 responded to 835 Hudson Av for a report of a school bus into a tree. While en route, the assignment was upgraded for a report of people trapped. Engine 10 and Battalion 1 responded at that time. Engine 16 was on location confirming a person trapped and declared a MCI(Mass Casualty Incident) due to the number of potential patients involved. Truck 6, Engine 2, Rescue 11 and Car 99 responded to assist.(Rescue 11 and Car 99 were responding directly from another MVA scene) Command reported a total 10 patients and all were treated and transported within 39 minutes of the initial dispatch. Both Rural Metro and Monroe Ambulance responded to the scene. No students suffered life threatening injuries, but unfortunately the bus driver did not survive. Rochester Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
