01.14.15 DEAR BECKY & DAN: Ethel exemplified joie de vivre! June 19, 1988 Dear Becky and Dan, I’m sure you’re in the midst of packing! But that’s a lot better than finding out that you might not get your house! I really felt sorry for you when you thought the loan didn’t go thru. So, I’m happy you are packing. I’m assuming that you are still in Modesto – so your letter will be addressed there. Let us know when you get moved. I renewed your Courier and gave them your new address – thinking that it might take a week or two for the order to go thru. We actually had a rainy day on Thursday. Tommy has been playing Scrabble all by himself – and Vicki was here – to relax and play Scrabble. We played 5 games of Scrabble that day! Tom can truly hold his own in that game – and he is only 10 years old! That night we all went to the park to watch his ball game. He hit a home run – and you should have seen the smile on his face! Then that night we ordered pizza from 7 different places! Vicki took pictures of all the kids that delivered the pizza! What a trip! It was fun. We had the table covered with pizza boxes – and today Molly and Tish finished up the last left over pieces for lunch! I took the whole family – the ones that were still here – to The Apple House for Friday night supper. It was a beautiful evening – and we had a nice time. I wanted Vicki to see the place. When she lived in Brunswick – the place was a small fruit stand. It is now a big lovely restaurant. Molly took Vicki to the airport yesterday – and Molly, Tish and I are getting back to normal. I think! It might take me awhile to come back from cloud nine! I don’t think I’ve ever in my whole life had such a wonderful week. Several times someone said I was spending too much money – but I still say - if I had decided to go on a cruise instead for my vacation – it would have cost me a heck of a lot more – and I wouldn’t have had such a nice time! So bless you all for coming! Much love to all 3 of you! Grandma! PS I hope the high chair gets there in good shape! I hope your watch is there by now, too. E.J. (Written in pen on the side) Sheri decided to play one game of Scrabble and she got 2 – 7 letter words in that game and won!
