01.23.14_Daily Devotion “The Comfort for daily Clouds!” Isaiah 61:1-3 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.” By Dr. M.H. Salahshurian, Ph. D If God were to come near us visibly, in a clear, bright, shinning daylight we would all vanish! He appeared to Moses in a “pillar of cloud” before He spoke to Moses, as we read in ( Exodus 33:9-11). Before Solomon dedicated the Temple (1 Kings 8:10-12) the clouds filled the temple, V-10, and the LORD told Solomon that He dwells in “the thick darkness!” V-12. The book of Nahum 1:3, reminds us that, “ The clouds are the dust of His feet.” The clouds of our daily lives, sufferings, sorrows, sad circumstances all reminds us that God is there with us, within those clouds of life! Its through these every clouds that His Spirit is reminding us that we need, “to walk by faith and not by sight” ( 2 Corinthians 5:7). Its also through these dark clouds of uncertainty ( FEAR ), that we draw closer to Him by FAITH! SEE: Hebrews 11:7 “ By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.” Luke 9:34 “While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.” Until we can overcome our fear by faith, and come face-to-face with the deepest, thickest, darkest clouds [Facts] of life without doubting and damaging our view of Gods character and who He is, we do not fully know Him ( Hebrews 11:6). “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Revelation 1:7a “ Behold, He cometh with clouds;...” theswordandshield
