010SNEZ 11/5/12 By Francis Edwards How God Calls 1 Corinthians 1:26-28: “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are.” God sees things we can’t God makes decisions differently than we do. The world judges things by outward appearance. They judge a book by its cover. God looks past mere appearances. God looks on the heart. He knows what’s inside us and knows our potential. God knows what He can accomplish through common men and women. God equips the called God doesn’t usually use the rich or the mighty. He is looking for those who are available and submitted to Him. He wants people who have a heart for Him. When He finds such a person He then equips them for His work. Moses had an anger problem. David was a lowly shepherd. Peter was always putting his foot in his mouth. Even with their shortcomings God used these men in mighty and powerful ways. His anointing made the difference. Get yourself ready We must be ready for the call of God so we don’t miss the day of our visitation. God will take what we have and add to it. God wants to enlarge our tent and stretch us. It is necessary to lay aside any weights or encumbrances that would hold us back. God does not call anyone based on their natural abilities or talents. God calls and equips unlikely people that we would never choose. When He calls you it is essential to depend on Him and His Holy Spirit. The power of God is what makes the difference.
