03.04.2014 ALL Lincoln Park residents and those who know people in LP: the state’s financial review team held the public hearing today, from 4pm to 4:24pm. From all accounts that I gathered, no real questions were asked and no real information was given. I had hoped for the last year that we would get away with a consent agreement, but it looks like an EFM and bankruptcy are down the road. I’m not going to point fingers even though I really want to. I don’t feel like blowing out some specific city officials but Trust me, they need to be blown out on FB, the media, etc. The simple truth is, you get the government you don’t vote for. LP had a 15.46% voter turnout for our local elections last November. That is so low, it doesn’t even qualify as the democratic process for any city level government. I have a 7 year revitalization plan, that involves all boards, commissions, city council, Mayor and many residents working together. This city must rebuild, and I have a roadmap. It involves a lot of work, and I’m now begging all Lincoln Park residents to get involved and save your city. I will not schedule a planning meeting until I have 25 volunteers. Even if you have only two hours a week that you can be involved, then I welcome you. Contact me, only if you are ready to volunteer and save the city. BTW, This is EXACTLY the plan I used as my center-piece when I ran for city council. If I had won, I’d be working it full-time at city hall as we speak.
