03.07.14_Daily Devotion “Searching For the Pearl in the Book of Proverbs!” Compiled By: Dr. M.H. Salahshurian, Ph. D As the Book of Psalms expounds upon mans relationship with God, the Book of Proverbs deals with mans relationship with man, and Gods purpose for man on earth. In the following days, starting with Saturday March 8, 2014, I will be choosing one single great verse, from each chapters of the Book of Proverbs, corresponding with that specific day, for the next thirty-one days. For example, the Daily Devotion for tomorrow, March 8, 2014 will be: “The Lord possessed me in the beginning of [His] way, before [His] works of old.” PROVERBS 8:22 You may read the whole chapter for that particular day if you wish, but if you dont have time, even reading that particular devotion related to that verse, for that specific day would be a great guidance to start your day. The greatness of each verse from each specific chapter comes from the fact that, that particular one verse, for that particular day leads you to a life-changing discovery for that day! We will be learning from the wealthiest, and the wisest man ever lived; King Solomon. The man who experienced, and tasted every sensual elements of life, yet at the end of his life, he had this to say in Ecclesiastes 2:11-13. “ Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun. And I turned myself to behold wisdom, and madness, and folly: for what can the man do that cometh after the king? even that which hath been already done. Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness.” Although, Solomon again reminds us of the emptiness of the worldly elements of this life in Ecclesiastes 12:8, but he concludes the purpose and the whole duty of man in Ecclesiastes 12:13-14. “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” theswordandshield
