03.12.2014 15. WONDERS OF CREATION: Belief in God (Brahmn) Is No Longer a Blind Faith In its parallel quest for ultimate reality, physical sciences are crossing the berries of physics and entering the domain of metaphysics. “Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature…” they say. The well-known astronomer, Mark Plank says: “Every advance in scientific knowledge brings us face to face with the mystery of our own being”. He further says, that the moot question in scientists’ mind is: Can there be a “Unified Theory” that can explain every aspect of the universe without any role for the God to play? If there is such a theory, would it not infringe upon God’s freedom to create? Einstein once asked, “How much choice did God have in constructing the universe?” Western philosophers/scientists have no clear answer to this. Surprisingly, the most convincing answer is found in the Indian scriptures. Vedanta defines the Ultimate Reality (God) as infinite Consciousness, which is the self-willed cause and element of creation within space-time causality. The ever-changing creation (universe) is only apparent (Maya) not real. Every animate and inanimate is impregnated by all-pervading Consciousness through energy vibrations. The Bhagwad Gita describes the ultimate Reality as thus: “Know thou that that by which all this pervaded, is indestructible” (II-17). “He is never born, nor does He die at any time, nor having (once) come to be will he cease to be. He is unborn, eternal, permanent and primeval” (II-20) “He is all pervading, unchanging, and immovable. He is the same forever” (II-24) --To continue
