03.24.14 Monday ~ Earl Michael Before Apple and IBM there - TopicsExpress

03.24.14 Monday ~ Earl Michael Before Apple and IBM there was the Texas Instruments TI-99/A PC. The keyboard console was actually the computer. ‘The Peripheral Expansion Box’, under the monitor, was an accessory. It added memory and had a drive which used a disc which was actually floppy. If you didn’t have the box you had to save all of your programs on a cassette tape recorder. I know this sounds Stone Age but it was a great gaming system. The game cartridges plugged into the keyboard. The graphics were good and the games even talked. You could even program the computer so it would say what you typed! .
