04/22/14 Spring is here--red buds are blooming, grass is green, mushrooms are starting to pop, crappie are biting. The last two days have been good to most fishermen. The water temp in the backs of the coves are above 60 degrees in most spots, lake level is near normal and steady, clarity is stained. Crappie seem to be hanging out in 10-15 of water, with some going to the bank in the afternoon. Black and chartreuse jig tipped with a minnow should do the trick. Nice to have a normal spring, lets hope it hangs on a couple more weeks so everyone gets a chance to have some Mark Twain crappie for supper.
