04/30/14 Fishing report Mother Nature threw us a curve ball this week, but while it wasnt a home run week for Mark Twain Lake, the ball is still in play. We were lucky in the fact that we didnt experience any severe weather this week and not as much rain as expected. Prayers to those not so lucky. Lake level is 607.4 Once again, the Corps did a good job of beating the crest on the Mississippi by aggressive generation before and right after the rain event. Kudos to Water Control (Not sure Ive ever said that before). Average water temp is about 55 degrees. Water clarity is stained on the east part of the lake to west of 107 bridges. Most of our customers are catching crappie. Some limits, some not so limits. Black and Chartreuse still seem to work, may need a minnow or crappie niblet. Fish are scattered in 15 of water to the bank, so you will want to stay on the move. No reports of spawning fish yet, so if the bite should be good for several more weeks, dont miss one of the best spring fishing years at Mark Twain Lake.
