04 Oct 2013 Update DAP-Sitlakhet, DAG-Tirthan --------------------------------------------------- For weather update on all campuses, please see earlier post (posted at about 10am). DAP - Sitlakhet: Kids are all having fun despite slightly colder climate. With the drizzles, it is an ideal day to learn search & rescue and evacuation which is what all the kids are doing this morning. They are equipped with their raincoats & umbrellas, compasses & maps and will learn how to find direction, make an improvised stretcher and do evacuation exercises. Weather permitting, they will do rock climbing & rappelling this afternoon. They also learnt about superstitions last night & had a treat of a few more magic tricks! DAG - Tirthan: Kids have had a tasty & filling breakfast and have gone for their activities. One group has gone for a stream walk, another is learning outdoor survival skills such as Mountain Manners & Leave No Trace (LNT). The 3rd group is packing their backpacks for their nightout. They will leave post lunch. Nightouts are usually a highlight. Kids will trek out to a camping spot, pitch their tents, cook their own meals, have a bonfire & sleep under the stars!
