Carole King was inspired to write this brutal song upon learning that her babysitter Eva Boyd, better known as singer Little Eva of Loco-Motion fame, was being physically beaten by her boyfriend. Barbara Alston again leads in, what would be, her last lead vocal recording on a single for the group. This song received some airplay, following its release that summer, but it was met with wide protests by audiences who felt that it promoted spousal abuse.
