08 / Oct / 2013 Loya Jirga on US-Afghan BSA to be held in a month, president Hamid Karzai said:- President Hamid Karzai has said Loya Jirga (Grand Council) would be organized in a month to discuss the fate of proposed security agreement between Kabul and Washington. In a press conference in Kabul, President Karzai stated that the Loya Jirga would make a decision to whether sign the security accord and discuss the demands and conditions of Afghan people in the treaty. President Karzai declared, “The United States should understand that the safety of Afghan citizens should not be the victim of this agreement.” Though, President Karzai appreciated the economic cooperation of America, he criticized America’s failure in ensuring security of Afghanistan. The eastern provinces were under artillery attacks of neighboring countries but the United States has been silent in this regard, President Karzai said. He announced that the advisory meeting of Loya Jirga that would be held in a month would decide whether to sign the agreement. Earlier, US President Barrack Obama declared his country would continue to fight against al-qaeda and other terrorist groups even if the Afghan government denied signing the treaty.
