0800BST Update: FoD Weather has issued a Yellow Warning for High Winds Updated 08:00 Tuesday 21st October 2014 Valid through 15:00 Tuesday 21st October *GALE FORCE GUSTS POSSIBLE TODAY* The remnant of Hurricane Gonzalo are moving across the UK this morning, clearing in to the North Sea later today. Strong winds are located on the south and southwestern sides of the depression. In addition to high winds, heavy showers - locally thundery - will affect all areas. *RAIN – Heavy showers may give brief, squally downpours through today. *WIND - Wind gusts to near 50 mph are possible in exposed locations throughout this morning. Winds will ease this afternoon. *IMPACTS – With trees in leaf, the high winds will lead to some minor damage to trees. Fallen leaves may also block drains leading to an increased risk of surface water and ponding on roadways. *NEXT UPDATE – This Advisory will expire at 15:00 Tuesday 21st October.
