1/11/15 915:pm Adam is ok tonight. His vital signs are good, and he is sleeping. Just two or three weeks after Adam first arrived here, he was able to talk to us. He remembered parts of the accident. He had bouts of lucidity, but most of the time, he hallucinated, due to the heavy pain medications and anti-psychotics he was on because of flashbacks. He was soon able to have tiny sips of Dr. Pepper, and could even eat tiny bits of his sister Sams Chicken Soup. One day, he was even able to eat an entire small Sonic Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake. Then, he had some emergency surgeries back to back, and he went away. He cant talk or move. He cant see right now, and both of his eyes are sutured closed to protect them. I spend most of my time, night and day, in his room, sleeping in there at night. I have been very sad and heartbroken that he is now in this condition, after being able to hear him and see him move so early on. I talked with his night nurse, who told me that Adam amazed everyone with his abilities so early. He said that it was VERY unusual; in fact, he has never seen a patient injured as badly as Adam be able to do those things so soon. Adams current condition is the norm. He describes it as Adams body and mind going into protective mode. As he heals, I have every hope and belief that he will come back to us, and again be able to do all of those things that I miss so much. I have learned so many things during this; I must remember patience.
