1-13-15----quiet day in Madison. Flu systems are letting up slowly, except for the fever. Cant seem to keep it below 100, but Im sure this bacterial infection has something to do with that too. Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in overnight or Ill be heading back to UW OR to have my leg checked further. It doesnt hurt as much as its sore (bruised feeling) to the touch. But the redness is super prominent tonight. Ben had a decent day according to the nurses at the VA. They were able to get the G tube in his stomach for feeding and will be able to remove the NG tube from his nose shortly. He did get platelets today and will have dialysis tomorrow. They are seriously considering putting him back on continual to reduce fluids and swelling. He had a little clotting last night in the rectal tube so they may end up doing a colonoscopy also. Just spoke to his nurse and Ben received sedation today for the procedure and seroquel a little bit ago to sleep, so hes pretty out of it. Jordan (nurse) did say that he responded very well to him overnight when he asked yes/no questions about us. And Deanna (nurse) said he shook his head no when she told him that I am sick. Those are good signs. I miss him and HAVE to get better NOW. Goodnight from Madison. ~Darla~
