1/20/15 A MESSAGE FROM Erica Gray: If Virginians want to get upset about energy costs, then they should be letting their representatives and Dominion know that building a 3 nuclear reactor at North Anna, in the VA seismic zone with an unproven new prototype, estimated cost being 10-20 billion dollars and taking 13 years to build should be off the table. Plus that would also mean adding at least 20 metric tons a year of highly radioactive waste , that will sit there on site for up to 120 years or longer. That also doesnt include the low and medium levels of nuclear waste. Mind you, the waste and the eventual decommissioning dwarfs the initial building cost. And if theres an accident? We surely can more forward with renewables like solar and wind, specially if we dont waste more money on adding another reactor. Lets not forget Dominion is sitting on all the off shore wind leases and has already received 4 million and then an additional 47 million for wind power generation https://dom/corporate/what-we-do/e…
