1.21 Prayer opens the way for God to work in our lives When God - TopicsExpress

1.21 Prayer opens the way for God to work in our lives When God made Adam and Eve, God gave man dominion on this earth. But when the Devil caused Adam and Even to fall into sin, they lost their dominion on earth and the Devil usurped their dominion. The Devil became the god or ruler of this earth. When Satan tempted Jesus in the three temptations, he said that the kingdoms of the world had been delivered to him. Jesus did not dispute that. (Luke 4) 5 Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for THIS HAS BEEN DELIVERED TO ME, and I give it to whomever I wish. 7 Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” However, when Jesus went to the Cross, Satan was judged (John 16:11) and Jesus took back all authority on earth legally. Jesus gave that authority back to His church before He ascended into heaven. We are to use that authority to fulfill the great commission. (Matthew 28:18-19) 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “ALL AUTHORITY HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ME in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit... What can the believer accomplish with that authority? A corresponding passage relating to the great commission in the Gospel of Mark tells us that the believers will have authority over demons, they will speak in new tongues (which came on the day of Pentecost), they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. (Mark 16:15-18) 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 AND THESE SIGNS WILL FOLLOW THOSE WHO BELIEVE: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” That authority is released through prayer - in casting out demons, in praying for the sick, in praying in the spirit, etc. When we pray, God in heaven will back us up. Our prayers open the way for God to work in our midst. Jesus told his disciples in Matthew 18:18 that whatever they bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. The following verse nineteen tells us that this statement is in the context of prayer. Prayer is very powerful especially when it is done with faith. Heaven backs up your prayer. Warning:- dont pray unless you are prepared to allow Gods miraculous intervention to happen in your life.
