1/23 410 pm update: Round one of rain is in the process of moving out stage right to the east with round two entering late this afternoon into the evening from the northwest. Wrap around rainfall will still be possible, but rain chances will decrease across the south as the first wave exits. Rain may switch over to a light snow across the far north after midnight. There is a low confidence of minor snow accumulations across the north overnight tonight into Saturday morning with a brief burst of snow on the backside of the exiting weather system. This could lead to minor snow accumulations, especially on grassy surfaces. Temperatures should remain above freezing for most areas while the snow falls. Areas with the highest chances at seeing any accumulation will likely be along and north of a Fayette to Gardendale to Jacksonville line. Rain is expected to come to an end before midday with only low chances across the northeast portions of Central Alabama. Clouds will decrease as well during the morning. Afternoon highs will range from the upper 40s to the lower 50s. Have a great night!
