1/8/14- DWI Arrest- On January 8, 2014 at approximately 3:50 AM deputies observed a grey 2001 Chevrolet travelling west on Elm Street in the Village of Groton. The operator, identified as Derrick N. Mackey age 36 of Groton, New York was involved in an incident that took place at his residence earlier and then fled the residence by vehicle possibly intoxicated. Further investigation by deputies determined Mackey was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Mackey was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Take a Breath Test, and Resisting Arrest. Mackey was arraigned in the Town of Groton Court and is to appear in the Town of Groton Court on January 22, 2014 at 2:30 PM. Mackey was remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $3,000 bail.
