1 An Independent Scotland will be even more successful. The UK is neither strong or successful and far from being one of the strongest economies in the world the UK cant even feed its own people. The rich get richer while the poor rely on food banks. Some strong economy!! This idea you have of the UK as a great benevolent nation is just wishful fantasy. It is deceitful, corrupt and cares for no one. 2. The Independent Scottish Parliament would still prioritise NHS and schools and even better would have full fiscal control to do so. 3. There you say it SCOTLAND IS A COUNTRY!!! Like any other country in the world so why shouldnt we have our own government. Having the government WE vote for. Suppose we said to the rest of the UK Okay well stay in the Union but from now on the UK will be run from Edinburgh and we will devolve the power. It is ludicrous so why is it acceptable for Scotland? And, why on earth should Independence stop us selling to the rest of the UK? 4. Are you suggesting Scotland will cease to be a culturally significant country after Independence? Our culture buoyed by self determination will grow hugely and flourish and continue to interact with other cultures worldwide. An Independent Scotland will be at the heart of the EU long after the Tories and UKIP have pulled the rest of the UK out of it. 5.If you think the UK is a force for good in the world you really are kidding yourself, participating in illegal wars at the behest of the USA! The British armed forces have been decimated by spending cuts till they do not have enough soldiers or equipment to defend these shores never mind any one elses. Just ask any former soldier, there are enough of them voting Yes! 6.Scotland currently contributes more in license fee payments than it receives back in programming so could easily afford to maintain the present service and even better it.7. Scottish students do not pay tuition fees the rest of the UK do! Need I say more? Scotland certainly does not need to take lessons in Education from the rest of the UK. 8. In no scenario can I see, in an Independent Scotland, energy bills increasing : Peter Strachan, Professor Of Energy Policy, Robert Gordon University, on Radio Scotland this morning. 9.The NHS in an Independent Scotland would still be exactly as you describe it and the further away we are from the NHS in England the better. Read the front page of last Saturdays Guardian. The NHS in Scotland is , at the moment by no means perfect but the difference is in England the Service is being privatised, dismantled and sacrificed by a government that hates its very existence whereas in Scotland we work to ensure a universal Health Service because we believe in it! 10. This tired old mantra!! Mortgages, pensions, and savings same as you I have all of these. Nothing will change with Independence. Scotland is not joining the euro! There will be a currency union, it will happen so live with it!! By what I read on this page No supporters have two motivations. Self interest and no belief in Scotland. Countries like Japan, Finland, Holland and many more cannot believe we even have to think twice about being an Independent country, it is as natural as breathing!
