1 Corinthians 13:5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is - TopicsExpress

1 Corinthians 13:5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. It feels like Dan and I are in the Valley of Elah ... slinging stones at giants that keep popping up ... we take one down and two pop up! Marriages in trouble ... financial disasters ... child abuse ... suicide attempts ... unbelievable! Satan is ticked! It seems like we are caught in the middle of one of his temper tantrums. Why? Lets see ... we just broke ground on a new building where we will reach more families for Christ ... we had around 200 people come through our Get Connected classes last weekend ... God has shown up in amazing ways at every conference, Bible study, and retreat where I have had the honor and privilege of speaking ... meetings with women I am mentoring have been precious and replenishing ... and it goes on. Yep! Now I see why Satan is angry! So he has come against me with irritating, nit-picking, absurd situations in my daily life. For example, I have spent about 8 hours on the phone in the past few days trying to straighten out a situation with my bank. I hate money! I hate dealing with money! I hate talking and thinking about money! If you have ever been to one of my speaking events, you know I will do just about anything to avoid my resource table. So Satan knows which emotional button to push. And I got angry! Very angry! No, I did not scream or yell. I did not curse. But man, was I angry. As I began to examine my heart this morning, this dratted verse in 1 Corinthians came to mind. And I realized that the reason I am still so angry is that love is not ruling my heart. So I am letting it go. And choosing love over anger. How about you?
