1. I love to cook, not bake. I do not have the patience for baking like my friend Donna but I absolutely love cooking, indoors and out. 2. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday just like my grandmothers. I enjoy waking up early to cook for my family (just like she did for us) (see #1). Ironically, 19 years ago the Lord took my grandmother home on Thanksgiving Day. What a celebration that must have been for her! 3. I can install tile and grout, carpet, hang and finish sheet rock but I have never changed a car tire. 4. I have visited 28 states and 8 countries in my lifetime. God has truly blessed me to be able to see and experience so many beautiful things. 5. For my 40th birthday, I celebrated by running a 5k and going on safari to South Africa. I killed 3 animals there: a zebra, a nyala, and a blesbock. 2 shots were at 300 yards. I was pretty impressed and so was our guide. 6. I am very self-conscious. Many people think I am hateful or snobbish when in actuality I am worried that I will say something completely stupid or ridiculous, so I just keep to myself. Not a great quality and one that I am still praying for help to change. 7. I am terrified of being myself at night. Even with an alarm system, there are nights I lie awake worrying about what might happen. Another quality I am praying for help to change. 8. I have a desire to live out west. After traveling there 10 years ago, Mark and I both fell in love with the country there. Either Montana or Wyoming would be our choice, however, God has not allowed that to happen so we will just keep serving in North Carolina and just visit when we get a chance (which I hope is soon). 9. I love working with the children at church. We sing and memorize bible verses and they are such a joy to be around. While I may not have been the best teacher with my girls growing up, I hope that I can be a positive influence on these precious lives God has entrusted to me. Children need Godly influences not worldly influences. Take your children to church, teach them that God loves them and that Jesus died for them. That is the best gift you could ever give your child. If you would like to play, just like and I will send you a number.
