1 John 3:1 The Message (MSG) 3 What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are. But that’s also why the world doesn’t recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who he is or what he’s up to. When we believe in Jesus, God becomes our Father, we become his children, all those who believe become our brothers and sisters, the church is our spiritual family. The family of God includes all believers past, present and future... Your spiritual family lasts forever! Our families on earth are precious gifts from God however they are temporary and fragile. They are broken by divorce, distance, illnesses, addictions, mental illnesses, growing old and inevitably death. Our spiritual family on the contrary will last forever. While we are on earth God gives us the riches of his grace, wisdom, power and mercy. We have so much more than these things to look forward to when we receive our inheritance from our Holy Father! We will be with God forever, we will be made Christ like, we will be free of pain and suffering, we will be rewarded with positions of service, and we will all share in Christs glory! Our inheritance is priceless and protected and cannot be taken from us. Whenever we feel unimportant, unloved, or insecure we need to remember to whose family we belong. : )
