1 John 3:16-18 “This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” Eternal Sacrifice, Firstly thank you for giving your life for mine. Additionally, thank you for the people you have placed in my life who have supported me. For the people who have given me emotional support when I was struggling with self-worth. For the people who have given me physical support when I was hungry, tired, sick, or in need. For the people who have given me social support when I was looking for a job. For everyone who has lifted me up throughout my life, I am eternally grateful. Help me to remember to pay it forward as I am able. Give me a willing heart to serve my brothers and sisters in Christ. Keep me from being an enabler, but teach me to give them real help, help that will continue to be helpful after I am no longer around. Let me help them to help themselves, just as those who helped me in the past made it possible for me to move on from dependence to independence. And even if I cannot help in any physical way, remind me that I can ALWAYS pray for them. I pray for them now… Amen.
