1 John 4:4. . . greater is He [Jesus] who is in you than he {Satan] that is in the world. Believers have more power in them than Satan has in the world. Our adversary, understandably, doesnt want Christians to know the power they received when they trusted Jesus shed blood to pay for their sin. . . . you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; —Acts 1:8 . . . through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil. —Hebrews 2:14 Satan is powerless over God, and God lives in Believers. Think about that for a moment. God, the designer and builder of the entire universe, with power beyond comprehension, lives inside every believer (Hebrews 1:3), yet most of the time we dont act like it. The spirit God has given us, alive in us today, is powerful, living and disciplined: For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. —2 Timothy 1:7 . . . be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man. —Ephesians 3:16 So, in the words of Francis Schaeffer, How then should we live?
