1 John Chapter 4: 9-10 God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent His One and Only Son into the world so that we might live through Him. Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. --- Most Christians are familiar with John 3:16, even if they arent learned or know to many scriptures. Jesus talked about spiritual blindness and even spiritual hearing going dull, and if you look for it when you read the gospels you will see that many times before Jesus spoke to the multitudes He always prayed that the peoples eyes would see and ears would hear what the “Holy Spirit” would say. I said that to say this, I believe that we can become dull in our hearing and our eyes can become somewhat blinded by consistent hearing the word of God. I believe we can become blinded and that causes our vision to become blurred to the things of God and what He has done for us which can cause us to drift away from Him. Spiritual deafness is where we always hear, but put very little or we dont apply the word in our daily walk with God which can cause spiritual deafness. I believe we do need to pray often about God renewing a right spirit within us so we can receive the entirety of the word of God with a refreshing hunger. Its important that the word of God means more and more to us each day we serve Him so we wont fall to formalism.
