Last year’s runners up(Bayern) have been in great form, topping a group which included Manchester City and also beating Arsenal in the round of 16. The German champions are also in imperious form in the Bundesliga, leading the championship by some distance. That Bayern Munich starts as red hot favourites hardly comes as a surprise, the German champions boast a midfield that any team would dream of having, with Guardiola as manager and a very good strength in depth, in Bayern Munich we’re looking at the champions of Europe. Manchester United’s route has been solid, but with the group stage matches they played, with all due respect, they didnt show that killer instinct we know them for, and the last 16 win against Olympiakos was a close call. So, do Man United really have any chance? You can’t rule them out though, but worryingly for the reigning English champions star striker Robin Van Persie who is out for 6 weeks! Being United’s star player and top scorer, this is a massive blow for United.
