1 PETER 5:1-14 NKJV v.8-9. Be sober, vigilant because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion. seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. There are times when GOD will ALLOW you to see difficulty as it approaches. When this happens, you can prepare for the battle through prayer and the study of His Word. Other times trouble STRIKES without warning! His Word offers insight how He WANTS us to handle the battle. Many the problems we face are direct assaults sent by Satan with ONE thought in mind: discourage, disable, and destroy GODs child. Throughout GODs Word, we are CAUTIONED to be on the alert against the schemes of the devil (1 Peter 5:8-9). Peter knew what he was talking about when he cautioned the early church. He UNDERSTOOD what it was like to be the target of the enemys deception, and he was passing on the wisdom he had learned to others. We have also have an obligation to other believers to do the same! EVERY believer will face the SAME battle at one time or another. While Pauls thorn in the flesh (2 Cor. 12:7) is believed by some, to be physical in nature, it also was a direct result of the enemys attack spiritually. Whatever it was, Satan sought to undo Paul with discouragement, he WILL do the SAME to us! That is why Paul told us to put on the WHOLE armor of GOD (Eph. 6:10-18). Claim what GOD has PROVIDED for you. This is your greatest SHIELD and PROTECTION: His Word and the fact that you belong to Him...GLORY HALLELUJAH!!! Dear heavenly FATHER, we come in JESUS name. We thank You for Your grace and power. Through the HOLY SPIRIT, prepare us for battle and be our greatest Shield...AMEN. ...leroy
