1 Peter 4:14-16 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter. Suffering for the name of Christ is part of the life of a Christian, and it is nothing to be ashamed of. In Colossians 1:24 Paul says, “I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church”. 2 Corinthians 1:5 says, “For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.” Our Lord God knows our suffering and He is our greatest reward; our assurance and only hope. John 15:20-21 says, “Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.” Verse/Commentary courtesy of Verse-A-Day app. verse-a-day/Apps
