1 Peter 5:2-3 KJV Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over Gods heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. This is one verse never heard preached at Lighthouse Mennonite Church. #1- Feed the flock of God which is among you. This means a bishop is forbidden by Scripture to have authority over a church he does not regularly attend. Lighthouse Mennonite Church is in Nova Scotia, and the bishop is from British Columbia. Its a greater distance than New York City to Los Angeles. #2- Neither as being lords over Gods heritage. This means a church leader is forbidden by Scripture to establish extra rules or to enforce them. Anything that is not of God is sin. The leaders at Lighthouse Mennonite Church disregard this Scripture, since it violates their ideology. #3- But being ensamples [examples] to the flock. This means the church leaders must live a life that proves Christianity works. It puts the accountability on to the leaders to be an example, not to tell how people must live, but to show them how to live. Rather, at Lighthouse Mennonite Church, the leadership has zero accountablilty to the membership of the branch, but the branch members are required to confess their offences, even personal little sins, to the leaders. If the leaders see fit, they have the authority there to require the member to stand in church and publicly confess their sins. The leaders can also excommunicate and establish shunning orders at their own discretion. They also believe as leaders they decide who can and cannot enter Heaven. We regret to announce that there is no one but God all by Himself up there in Heaven, since no one from Lighthouse has passed away. That is if Lighthouse was correct, but we all know it is a doctrine developed by deranged individuals seeking a false satisfaction through power over the masses. There is hope for all. Anyone can make it to Heaven. You do not need the Lighthouse church or any other church to obtain your eternal reward.
