1 Peter 5:8-9 ASV Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour, whom withstand stedfast in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are accomplished in your brethren who are in the world. Good Morning Faith Family. This mornings word comes from 1 Peter chapter 5. This chapter talks about Christian responsibility. As believers, we have been called to serve in some capacity. It is not just enough to believe. We have to be active in our faith. Elders, we have to take care of the people in our flock. We should not do this because we are obligated or for money. We do this because we want to glorify our Lord and Savior and take care of His people. Christ is the Chief Shepard and He will reward us with a crown of glory when He returns. Young people, you have to respect and obey your leaders. Be humble and listen to instruction. God opposes proud people and He shows grace to those that are humble. If you submit to the strong hand of God, then He will lift you up when the time is right. As believers, we should also give all of our worries to God. He cares about us and will take care of all of our needs. We have to be ready for action and keep watch for the devil. He is our enemy. He will cause you to worry if you are not strong in your faith. He walks around like a lion looking for people to destroy. We have to be strong and remember that our brothers and sisters in Christ are going through the same thing all over the world. God is the God of all grace. He has called us to take part in the glory of Christ. His grace will never end. After we have suffered for a short time, He will make it right. He will renew our strength and make us strong so that we can stand firm and not fall. We have to remember that God has all of the power!!! I want to thank some of my brothers and sisters this morning for their support in this ministry. Your words of encouragement along with the Holy Spirit give me strength to labor for The Lord.
