1 Samuel 2:23-25 And he said unto them, Why do ye such things? for I hear of your evil dealings by all this people. Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the LORDS people to transgress. If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall intreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the LORD would slay them. What a shame that Eli did not take the time to love his sons. You say Styly how do you know he did not love his sons, judge not lest ye be judged! Because the Bible says, a father that loves his children will correct and discipline his children. Instead of the rod, he throws some words at them, and they did not care. They did not care, they despised the LORD already. Joshua said, as for me and my house we will serve the LORD. Eli and many Christian father, these boys of Eli were old enough. If you dont serve the LORD you are out of my house and for Eli you are no longer priest. Yes they were sinning against God and what did Eli do to stop it? Nothing. Do you know what is wrong with the children today? When they do something wrong there is no action to their reaction - violation of the laws of thermodynamics. What? You say they have prisons, dont they? Prison as a punishment in America - free food (three times), HVAC, room and board free, free security force (correctional officers), medical, dental, athletic center, television, counselors, transportation, need I go on further? Parents - I will count to ten, good for you and then what? Time out - another beginners action before Jail. Eli pictures American parents. Reaction is rebellion against church (tabernacle), and against the people. parents have relied on two major babysitters - Public School and television -> the violence today is the fruit of Public School and television. Christian parents - you will stand before Jesus Christ at the Judgment Seat of Christ and will give an account of your children and their actions as Eli will. There is one worse thing on this earth, watching you children live wicked and give no heed to God and knowing in your heart and conscience that you helped that child in his or her rebellion in not taking action! (this statement applies to the Eli parents) So Godly dedicate parents your children rebel in spite of your discipline, they do it in rebellion against you and God. There are children out there from saved families and the law knows there names, because God was not first, the Word was not a priority in the family! Eli was the High Priest, I am a pastor, I am a deacon, I am so and so - position that you hold will not make godly children - ask Eli, David, and even Samuel!
