1. So yesterday we had a staff meeting for our holiday show because we want the children to do a concert. The conversation started out as flat, boring, and lacking ideas, but I got everyone amped up! Ideas quickly evolved into talk of getting a hotel, having food and games, having the children sing and do a couple more acts, getting acrobats and singers, and ooh we could raise money for this, then well have a talent show in the spring, etc. etc. Also, I proposed that the staff do a dance to shock and surprise the kids to make them laugh, and they loved it. It truly is strange and beautiful noticing the gifts the Lord has given me. I mean, really. I never would have thought that I could be such an inspiration and a joy to others. It is really, really humbling. 2. I will also be writing the play for our show and the staff couldnt be more excited about the idea. Making things happen X) 3. Learning how small you are in comparison to the rest of the world, but how big your impact on it can be. 4. Excited to head to La Palm for Oktoberfest/Halloween festivities with the girls tonight! Even more excited for tomorrows UN sporting events day, playing for USA!!! YEAH!! 5. I have finally given up on trying to move away from Michigan. It will always be home and we have some wonderful places and hikes that I havent even seen or done yet. I have realized throughout all my travels that I want nothing more than to be close to those that I love and am comfortable with. 6. I FINALLY feel like I have my bearings here in Ghana, and its been two months, which seems like a while, but in the perspective of getting acclimated to a foreign country, I suppose Im doing okay. 7. I am so blessed to have such an amazing boyfriend. 8. Still waiting on school supplies! Please let me know if you are sending anything, I havent gotten anything or any notification of anything. 9. I went on a run last night and something very eerie happened. All of the power went out. The streets arent very well lit anyway, but it was definitely a little nerve racking being all alone in the dark, somewhere I didnt know that well, not being able to see any one or any thing in front of me... wild animal, wild dog, wild person... you just dont know. I finished my run, but cut it short because someone was burning rubbish again and all I was breathing in was ash and smoke.
