1. THE GODHEAD - (Genesis 1:26) There is ONE Godhead, made up of three living persons; NOT one person. Yes, three living persons. (1 + 1 + 1 = 3). . 2. WHO ARE THEY? - (Matthew 28:19; 1 John 5:7) The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (1 + 1 + 1 = 3; NOT one). These three bare record in heaven. To differentiate them from each other, the first person in the Godhead is called the Father, the second person in the Godhead is called the Son, and the third person in the Godhead is called the Holy Spirit. 3. ARE THEY THREE GODS OR ONE GOD? The Father is God; the Son is also God; and the Holy Spirit is God also. There are THREE GODS - (Genesis 1:26; John 1:1; John 14:16; Acts 5:3). Remember, Jesus never ceased from being GOD on earth while He was in human form for 33 years - (Philippians 2:5-8; Hebrews 2:14-17). 4. WHAT MAKES THEM ONE? They are one in purpose, mind, and character. They are NOT one body; NOT one person; NOT one God. Just like a husband and wife; they are to become one flesh in mind, purpose, and character, yet distinct individuals from each other. Husbands and wives are NOT one body; NOT one person. (1 + 1 = 2). 5. ONE GOD THEORY - ATTACKS JESUS CHRIST WHO IS A DISTINCT GOD FROM THE FATHER AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. The belief in "ONE GOD" only (1 + 1 + 1 = 1), is an attack against Jesus Christ, the eternal self-existent God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who became human for 33 years to SAVE us, through His life, death, and resurrection - (John 11:25).
