1. That was an unforgettable send off for the grandson of Jaramogi. The turnout of both friends and political rivals from all walks of life was comforting to close family members, extended family, friends, the people of Siaya and all Kenyans who were deeply affected by Fidels sudden demise. 2. For Fidels widow, Lwam Bekele Odinga, losing a husband at such a young age can be devastating. It is encouraging that the Odinga family will keep her and young Allay Odinga in comfort. She remains a family member forever. In Luo culture, a widow was never left alone to suffer in any respect. 3. James Orengo did a perfect job mceeing the memorable event. Taking control of event of such magnitude at the heart of Luoland is no easy task. 4. Some of the speakers made remarks considered hurtful by some of Fidels former wife, Veronica. I hope Veronica can take all that in her stride. We all have that uncle or aunt capable of making disconcerting remarks. We know them and try to understand them. 5. Babas strong spirit throughout the period only confirmed why some gave him the title, Baba. It is a tough act to follow after losing a first born son in who he had many expectations. Baba is a great Leader. 6. The lesson for Kenyans, especially the youth, is that we may never agree in politics, religion and culture. However, we should never lose sight of the big picture. We all deserve a peaceful and prosperous country. Our children deserve even better. It is possible for us to work together, respect each other, teach our children to understand and respect rather than hate and force our political and cultural leaders to do the same. God bless Kenya.
