1. There has been a 17.5% Special Petroleum Tax introduced 2. There has been the removal of the ad valarium tax in the previous price build up. 3. The effect of the above 2 points is as follows; - Premium_3% increase - Diesel_3% increase - Kerosene_2.8% increase - Premix_Price unchanged - RFO_Price unchanged - LPG_10% reduction 4. As per Governments arrangement with the Transport Unions, there can be only 2 increases in transport fares - In January and July. The only time this timetable can be by passed is when there is a 10% or more hike in petrol prices. This 3% increase WOULD NOT affect transport prices. 5. Government has a policy to phase out the use of firewood hence the distribution of 20,000 LPG bottles in rural Ghana to our grandmothers and family members. A reduction of 10% is huge savings for all of us. #wearewatching
