1 Thessalonians 1:2 “We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;” We would do well to follow Paul’s example when dealing with brothers and sisters. We ought to thank God for fellow believers regardless of their state, position or level of growth. If we told others of our gratitude for them and told them of our prayers of praise to God for them and our prayers of encouragement for them they might better grow, better receive reproof, correction and be encouraged to live holy. As you read Paul’s letters you might get an idea of other things Paul may have prayed for on behalf of fellow believers. It would behoove us to pray for these things as well: Thanking God for them and the stand they take, their growth IN Christ, protection from the evil one, their sanctification, that they’d have boldness to speak as they ought, and their correction where they’ve been wrong (the conviction of the Holy Ghost). Press on in prayer; press on in praise! Lift up each other before the throne of grace. Take time today to not only pray for fellow believers but reach out and pray WITH a brother or sister today. How encouraging would that be?
