1 Timothy 4:1-5 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will DEPART from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron,forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving: for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. People who are defiled or whose conscience is seared will display ungodly attitudes or looking away from God and the Bible as the proper authority. It also may mean they are judging the Bible rather than let the Bible judge them. If the conscience is not active in judging past acts,it is said to be weak(1 Cor. 8:7,10,12) and may be wounded. When the conscience is insensitive, it is seared ( 1 Tim. 4:2) The sinful conscience is defile( Titus 1:15) or evil (Heb 10:22).
