1 Timothy 5:17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine. NKJV I cannot imagine anything better than serving the Lord. Whether you are called to full time ministry or simply sharing Christ at work, serving the Lord is the pinnacle of life. After all, we were created for that very thing. This doesnt mean that every person will be called to smuggle Bibles into China or become a pastor of a church, but we all have areas of ministry that only we can do. This could mean raising your children or sharing the love of Christ with strangers. Whatever it may be, when you are doing what God has called you to do, there is overwhelming joy. Leaders in the church understand the truth of this statement as well as the hardships that come with it. It is a gift and a privilege to serve as an elder or a pastor at a church and yet there is pain and hardship that flow with these responsibilities. As followers of Christ, we must learn to lovingly support our church leaders. Not because we are going to agree with them 100% of the time, but because that is what God has commanded us to do. When the church stands in support of its leadership, it allows the elders to minister in a powerful way. In this cycle of love and respect, the church can function at its maximum potential so that each and every person is able to experience the joy of serving our Lord. Life Lesson: Living for God makes all the difference in life.
