1 Timothy Timothy: His father, whose name is unknown, was a Greek. His mother, Eunice, and his grandmother, Lois, were Jewish and gave him an emphatically Jewish education. From childhood, he learned the Holy Scriptures daily. Timothy and his mother received the gospel message from Paul and Barnabas with unfeigned faith. When he became a man, Timothy was set apart to do missionary work and became one of the companions of Paul.
