1. Try lots of things. Its the only way to find favorites and youll find it a million times easier to stick with favorites. Once you have a base of favs, you can always tweak em to suit physical goals, but the soul will always win. (Booty shakin burpees? Theyre my thang). 2. Get cool with sucking. Focus on how your body feels and stay in the moment. No one cares as much as you do and if you already rock, the learning curve is too small. That awesome feeling that comes with nailing something you sucked at only comes by sucking. Suck away! 3. I judge the judgers. At least a little. They clearly arent having enough fun if theyre wasting time judging me. Or maybe they have issues to work through, in which case I give em a metaphorical head tilt and hug. Poor judgies. 4. Stop reading too many fitness magazines, pages that praise leanness or results more than fun/health and sources that define effectiveness as purely related to physical goals. Too much noise and energy. Not as big a deal as they make you think it is. 5. Find new friends who are into the same things or on the same page! Life expansion baby. Broaden your horizons. New friends are cool. 6. 10 min workouts or easy workouts or walks or anything else you might feel doesnt count, counts. Physically, they might not get you to aesthetic goals, but they keep you consistent, moving and make it easier to boost up later. I spent months not being able to do much more than a blah workout and my body thanked me for it. 7. There is no wagon. Just today. Life is weird: there will be times when you lose your MOJO and its all part of the deal. Not just a few days either: a week, a month, several months. Youll have times when youre all about one thing, then times when you need something else. Keep moving, find the fun and you get an A. 8. Dont compare yourself to other people. Or past versions of yourself. You are here now, as you are, and thats wicked. Goals are fine (Id like to feel as strong as I did back when I was __). But as far as self worth stuff goes, let it go. Over and over.
