American president, JF. Kennedy. We simply could not apply any of those quotes listed above to the situation in Pakistan, could we? I think Pakistan is yet to be fully democracy. I think the government in Pakistan is in control of all the resources and not people. Etc. How we used to run patriotism (hubul watni i.e de watan sra meena) for Pakistan in young age and the first few years abroad in America: 1) We were taught to say we were Pakistanis only (in schools). 2) We would not tolerate anyone speaking ill about Jinnah or Pakistan 3) Urdu is our national language. 4) President Gen. Zia Ul haq was our mentor 5) What else? The green and white is our national flag. 6) Shalwar Kamees is respected national dress. 7) And much more But alas, only a few kept that for long. Speaking Urdu is great but it is kind of giving some American Urdu speaking families the notion of superiority of some sort….
