Your patient is requiring mechanical ventilation at home due to a long term lung injury they sustained. Ventilator Type: Electrical, open system, volume displacement Ventilator Airway Type: Trach, cuffed or uncuffed depended on the pt and situation. 3. Your patient was in a car accident and the rural emergency squad needs to place an airway and ventilate the patient. Ventilator Type: Electrical, open system, blower/compressor Ventilator Airway Type: Something easy to insert for minimally trained EMTs, maybe a Combitube or EOA
