$1 billion in just District 22 More evidence of what the Extremists decision not to expand Medicaid is costing our state, county by county I spent the last couple of days digesting this report, which analyzes county by county the costs of not expanding Medicaid in NC. These costs are staggering. Take a look for yourself, and use the map to find your county and the counties in your region. In District 22, the bad news looks like this: 2,986 fewer jobs in 2016; 5,289 fewer jobs by 2020; 12,361 fewer people will not receive coverage (and will cost the rest of us!); $1,010,600,000 in less economic activity; and $5,445,000 in less tax revenue for the seven local governments in the district. Lets get NCs economy going again. Lets spark a real Carolina Comeback. Lets improve the health of the working poor and all North Carolinians.
