1 in 3 Aussie homes contain #asbestos. Are you playing #Renovation Roulette? Get to kNOw Asbestos this November @asbestosawareness.au A big thanks to everyone that participated in LPSC’s ‘Blue Doo Morning Teas’ over the last couple of days promoting Asbestos awareness. Thanks to the generosity of all who contributed over $200 for asbestos disease research. Such events can’t be a success without the enthusiasm of the organisers so a special thanks to everyone that helped out, especially to Alice, Zo, Brooke and Donna who have cooked, cleaned, baked and served very tasty offerings as part of these gatherings! Thanks also to Clare’s Crust and Cream in Robert Street, Tamworth for their donation of a delicious sponge cake. LPSC has available the Fact Sheet Asbestos Disposal at Quirindi Landfill. Quirindi Landfill is the only LPSC landfill licensed to take asbestos-related waste. The Fact Sheet provides the dos and don’ts of packaging asbestos waste to take to the landfill and tips for removing and disposing of personal protective equipment. Copies of the Fact Sheet can be obtained from Council’s Administration Centre, Werris Creek and Quirindi Libraries, the Visitor Information Centre Willow Tree, on Council’s website, by emailing a request to [email protected] or calling 6746 1755 to arrange to have one put in the post. Pictured is LPSC Senior Weeds Officer Peter Scott with a tray of Town Planner Alice Elsley’s Blue Coconut Ice as well some of the other goodies produced for the events … #Betty the ADRI House & Asbestos Awareness.
