1 job vacancy in APRECO (Deadline 4th July 2013) JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Employment as Agronomist The “Verein zur Förderung nachhaltiger Entwicklung in Rwanda e.V.” ("Association for the Promotion of Sustainable Development in Rwanda“) is a German Non Governmental Organization that works on topics related to Rwanda’s sustainable development, especially in Biodiversity conservation, Agroforestry and Management of natural resources. The project "Agroforestry for the Protection of Rainforest Ecosystems“ (APRECO) aims to establish an agroforestry zone at the border of the southeastern part of Nyungwe Forest. More precisely in the four sectors Kivu, Muganza, Nyabimata and Ruheru in Nyaruguru District. The field office and thus, the place of duty is located in the area of operation in Nyaruguru. APRECO is financially supported within the framework of the International Initiative for Climate Protection by the German Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) based on a resolution of the German Federal Parliament. Duties and Responsibilities : supervision and management of tree nurseries planning, monitoring and supervision of the tree planting activities in the project area training and sensitisation of farmers direct reporting to the chief agronomist and project manager communication and cooperation with local authorities and agronomists/foresters Required qualifications : professional education in Agriculture, preferential in Agroforestry, Level A1/A2 driver´s license for class A is obligatory ! excellent knowledge in business English and Kinyarwanda very good computer skills, especially advanced experience with MS Office-applications ability and willingness to work under field conditions in a remote area Desired qualifications at least 1 year experience incl. field work knowledge of GIS and GPS recording Application procedures Documents to be submitted : application letter, curriculum vitae with three persons of reference, notified copies of the school certificates a copy of the identity card a copy of the driver’s licence „Association for the Promotion of Sustainable Development in Rwanda“ APRECO Project, PO Box 344, Butare (Avenue Buye no 109).
