1 year ago today (around this very time actually) A major tornado outbreak was beginning to unfold across multiple states. The strongest of which was a violent tornado that devastated the town of Washington, Illinois. It will probably remain the strongest tornado I will track in my home state for many years. This is a day I will never forget. Afterwards I was heavily involved in recovery efforts, making multiple trips to the town to donate supplies and even hand the mayor a check with money that was raised through Storm Assist (a charity group I work with.) The amount of recovery the town has made since then is astounding.
